Don’t Overlook Small Opportunities

When people think marketing, sometimes the focus tends to be on bigger media – direct mail pieces sent out by the thousands, websites, banners with lots of drive-by traffic, etc. – but you don’t want to overlook everyday opportunities to promote yourself and your practice. You just need some tools...
A First & Important Marketing Tool
Especially when opening a new practice, often before your office build-out is finished and before your larger marketing projects are ready (or still building momentum), your business cards and stationery can be one of your first and important marketing communication tools. You can use them to get your name and marketing image out there, generate word-of-mouth referrals, and start pre-booking appointments. We love to hear clients report that they opened their doors with a significant number of patients already on the books!
Business Cards, Stationery, & Internals Essentials
1) It is essential that your business cards, stationery, and other internal pieces include the following information:
- Your Logo & Practice Name
- Your Tagline (If you have one)
- Doctor Name(s)
- Staff Name, Preferably with a Title (If printing cards for individual team members)
- Contact Info: Phone Number(s), Web Address, Street Address(es), & Fax Number (If desired)
Multiple-location practices may have info for more than one office on one card, or they may use separate cards and marketing pieces for each office. This depends on personal preference, as well as the design set-up of your pieces.
2) It is essential that your cards, stationery, and internals present your logo in an appropriate and attractive manner that maintains consistency with your branding style. All of your marketing investments should build on each other and reinforce your overall branding efforts. Think of it like this: You want people to start feeling “at home” or familiar when they see your various marketing pieces. When the same look and feel is maintained, eventually people will be able to immediately recognize anything promoting your office. Plus, people are more likely to feel comfortable when physically in your office after viewing marketing that fosters feelings of constancy and familiarity.
3) It is essential that you use your cards, stationery, and internals! They won’t do you any good collecting dust in boxes under your front desk or in a storage closet.
